No account, no analytics, no automatic crash reporting and no background uploads. Compass & Clipboard connects to the network only when you explicitly ask it to. The German version at the bottom is the legally binding one.

This policy describes the Mac App Store copy of Compass & Clipboard. Drawings, clipboard content, dictation and recordings are processed locally on your Mac. The app has no account, no analytics and no automatic crash reporting. Nothing is uploaded in the background. Information leaves the Mac only after an action you deliberately take, such as Share, Report a Problem, or opening a website. This copy does not include Send to AI, does not store API keys, and has no CLI handoff.
Menu layouts, shortcuts and settings live in the app's own preferences on your Mac. This copy does not record macros, import cursor skins, or keep AI API keys. Clipboard content is written to disk when you choose Save, open a text or image item for editing, or drag it out as a file. Pictures also reach disk when the paste stack sends them to the clipboard as files: the app keeps that copy in its own cache folder in your Library. Clipboard history and drawings are not kept between launches.
Clipboard history is never sent in the background. This copy has no Send to AI control, no API connection, and no CLI handoff.
The clipboard home has an Input Monitor band: copies, pastes, captures, recordings, Compass opens, clicks and keystrokes — counted only as events, never their content. The counts live in the app's own preferences on your Mac, are never sent anywhere, and nobody but you can read them — including us. Counts older than 400 days drop out as new ones come in; Reset All Counts in Settings → Input Monitor clears them all. Once a week the clipboard home can open on its own with the week that just closed; both that and the counting itself turn off in Settings → Clipboard & Capture.
The Features demo does not read your real screen or clipboard. Your theme choice stays in browser storage. Support and Contact open an email draft in your mail app. The separate Community privacy notice explains public submissions, moderation, anonymous browser sessions and the optional-to-browsing Cloudflare Turnstile check. The forum stores data you explicitly submit. The referral notice explains the first-party cookie for share links and visit counts; Mac App Store purchases are not part of referral. Our hosting provider processes connection information to deliver and protect this website.
Purchases are not open yet. When they are: buying directly on this site means we process your email address and the payment data the payment provider gives us, to deliver your license and to meet tax obligations (Art. 6 (1) (b) and (c) GDPR). Purchases in the Mac App Store are handled entirely by Apple; we never see your payment data there.
You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15–21 GDPR). An email to [email protected] is enough. You can also complain to the supervisory authority — for us that is the Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht, Ansbach. No automated decision-making or profiling takes place.
