The license you install and use Compass & Clipboard under. The German version at the bottom is the legally binding one.
This agreement is between you and Viet-Duc Doan, Köhnstraße 51, 90478 Nürnberg, Germany ("we"). It covers the Compass & Clipboard application for macOS, every version and update of it, whether you got it as a direct download from mousetools.app or through the Mac App Store. By installing or using the app you accept this agreement.
You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Compass & Clipboard on every Mac you control, for your own use. One license covers one person, not one machine. A family or a team needs one license per person. The license is perpetual for the major version you bought; updates within that major version are included.
Compass & Clipboard and its source code are proprietary and stay ours. You may not copy, distribute, rent, lend, sublicense, sell or modify the app, in whole or in part. You may not reverse engineer it except where § 69e UrhG (German Copyright Act) gives you an unwaivable right to. The full reservation of rights is in the LICENSE file that ships with the app.
We may offer updates on the website, through an update feed or through the Mac App Store. This agreement covers every update unless the update ships with a newer agreement, which then applies from the moment you install that update.
Dictation uses Apple's on-device speech recognition; sharing and "Report a Problem" use the apps and services you choose. Their own terms apply to what you do with them. The Mac App Store copy needs the macOS permissions it asks for to work — Input Monitoring, Screen Recording, and when you dictate or record, Microphone and Speech — described in the Privacy Policy. It does not use Accessibility and does not record macros.
Your statutory warranty rights under German law remain untouched. Nothing in this agreement reduces them.
We are liable without limit for intent and gross negligence, and for injury to life, body or health. For slight negligence we are liable only for breach of a duty whose fulfilment makes the proper performance of this agreement possible at all (a cardinal duty), and then limited to the damage that is typical and foreseeable for this kind of contract. Liability under the German Product Liability Act remains untouched.
The license ends automatically if you breach this agreement. When it ends, you delete every copy of the app you hold. You can end it at any time by doing exactly that.
German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer, the mandatory consumer protections of the country you live in remain unaffected.
If you bought Compass & Clipboard in the Mac App Store, Apple's own terms apply to the purchase in addition. Apple is not responsible for the app, its content or its support — we are, at [email protected].

Dieser Vertrag gilt zwischen dir und Viet-Duc Doan, Köhnstraße 51, 90478 Nürnberg („wir"). Er gilt für die Anwendung Compass & Clipboard für macOS in jeder Version und für jedes Update, gleich ob du sie als direkten Download von mousetools.app oder über den Mac App Store bezogen hast. Mit Installation oder Nutzung der App erkennst du diesen Vertrag an.
Du erhältst eine persönliche, nicht ausschließliche, nicht übertragbare Lizenz, Compass & Clipboard auf jedem Mac zu installieren und zu nutzen, den du kontrollierst, für deine eigene Nutzung. Eine Lizenz gilt pro Person, nicht pro Gerät. Familien oder Teams benötigen eine Lizenz pro Person. Die Lizenz gilt unbefristet für die von dir erworbene Hauptversion; Updates innerhalb dieser Hauptversion sind eingeschlossen.
Compass & Clipboard und sein Quellcode sind proprietär und bleiben unser Eigentum. Du darfst die App weder ganz noch teilweise kopieren, verbreiten, vermieten, verleihen, unterlizenzieren, verkaufen oder verändern. Eine Rückübersetzung (Reverse Engineering) ist nur insoweit zulässig, als § 69e UrhG sie unabdingbar erlaubt. Der vollständige Rechtevorbehalt steht in der LICENSE-Datei, die mit der App ausgeliefert wird.
Wir können Updates über die Website, über einen Update-Feed oder über den Mac App Store anbieten. Dieser Vertrag gilt für jedes Update, es sei denn, das Update wird mit einem neueren Vertrag ausgeliefert; dieser gilt dann ab Installation des Updates.
Diktate nutzen Apples geräteinterne Spracherkennung; Teilen, „Problem melden" sowie die Befehle und Adressen, die du in Makros hinterlegst, nutzen die Apps und Dienste, die du selbst wählst. Für deren Nutzung gelten deren eigene Bedingungen. Compass & Clipboard benötigt die angefragten macOS-Berechtigungen — Bedienungshilfen, Bildschirmaufnahme, Mikrofon und Spracherkennung —, um zu funktionieren; wofür sie verwendet werden, beschreibt die Datenschutzerklärung.
Deine gesetzlichen Mängelrechte bleiben unberührt. Keine Regelung dieses Vertrags schränkt sie ein.
Wir haften unbeschränkt bei Vorsatz und grober Fahrlässigkeit sowie bei Verletzung von Leben, Körper oder Gesundheit. Bei leichter Fahrlässigkeit haften wir nur für die Verletzung einer Pflicht, deren Erfüllung die ordnungsgemäße Durchführung dieses Vertrags überhaupt erst ermöglicht (Kardinalpflicht), und begrenzt auf den für diese Art von Vertrag typischen, vorhersehbaren Schaden. Die Haftung nach dem Produkthaftungsgesetz bleibt unberührt.
Die Lizenz endet automatisch, wenn du gegen diesen Vertrag verstößt. Mit ihrem Ende löschst du jede Kopie der App, die du besitzt. Du kannst den Vertrag jederzeit auf genau diesem Weg beenden.
Es gilt deutsches Recht unter Ausschluss des UN-Kaufrechts. Bist du Verbraucher, bleiben die zwingenden Verbraucherschutzvorschriften des Landes, in dem du lebst, unberührt.
